My 48 Hour Recharge. Instagram Style.

Sometimes, you just need a break.

A break from crazy work weeks AND a break from your vacation.  No matter how much fun vacation was.

I know you know what I mean.

So I was lucky enough to have the last two days to completely recharge and get my life back in order.  I did as much laundry as I could find quarters for.  I did the dishes that we had let pile up for days (yep, even Brad was exhausted). I finally put the suitcases away…

But most importantly, Brad finally joined Instagram!!  Today, in honor of how much fun Instagram is – and how much Brad already loves it – I thought I’d share a few of my own Instagram shots of what I do in 48 hour recharge mode.

WARNING – things could get delicious.

I took Gibson for a run or two.  Who doesn’t love that tired dog smile?

I met up with a new acquaintance that I am hoping to get some music started with.  We talked musical theatre, blues rock, latin music, and cover songs.

I was starving and Brad was working, so I headed over to Bar Pintxo for a quick bite.  Brad took about twenty minutes garnishing a very phallic looking dish with giant tweezers…

But it ended up beautiful and delicious.  Veal and Foie Gras Sausage.

Yesterday, Brad and I had a whole day off together.  We slept until we couldn’t sleep anymore, and then we took off in different directions.

He butchered a pig. (This is HIS Instagram shot!)

I looked at shoes at DSW.  And planned a made up vacation to Vegas so I could wear these shoes.

We reconvened at the garden store, where I found my personal favorite type of Thyme…
I made a lot of bad “Thyme, why you such a creeper?” jokes…
But we went home with three different types of thyme (including the creeper) and planted it all.  Our garden needed some love, and the extra thyme was absolutely necessary to keep up with Brad’s use of the herb in his home cooking.
After gardening, I settled in with Gibson and a glass of wine.
Brad went to work in the kitchen, utilizing the rest of the duck we had in the freezer.
And came up with this masterpiece.

Brad and I almost always end our days off together around our dinner table with empty plates, recounting how wonderful our day together was.

This time, all I could say was, “Thank you.”  What a meal.  What a man.

What a 48 hours.

xoxo
