Juice!

I am really, really excited.  And when I think about it, I know I’m really an adult because I’m really excited about a kitchen appliance that I just bought.

My very own juicer!!

Now this has been a long time coming, since I did a Pressed Juicery Cleanse back in January and loved it.  I still go over to their Brentwood location every now and then and pick up a few Greens #3 just when I’m feeling like I need a few more veggies in me.

And if two weeks full of family, food, wine, and fun doesn’t call for a little reboot to the system, I don’t know what does.

So I’ve been running again, starting back at my 2 mile run and building it up from there, and today I bought myself a Juicer!!

I bought a little extra produce at the Market last week to prepare for my new juicer.  A little extra greens, a coupe of apples.  I don’t really know what I’m doing, but I know what is in the juices that I like.

I started out with my own version of Pressed Juicery’s Greens #3.  And I did a pretty darn good job, if I do say so myself.

If you have your own juicer, give this a try.  It’s a refreshing breakfast or lunch that fills you up and makes you feel amazing.  Have I mentioned I love juice??

Kels Greens #1!

  • 1 bunch kale
  • 2 handfuls spinach
  • 2 Granny Smith Apples
  • 1 Golden Delicious Apple
  • 1 lime
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 2 inch section of ginger

The only thing I bought at the store was the ginger.  Everything else was from the Market, and the parsley (and a few other greens I threw in) were from our garden!

The result?

A deliciously green beverage (with enough for about 2 or 3 drinks).  And about 3 servings of your five vegetables for the day.  Drink the whole think and you’re set.

ONLY problem with my new fun kitchen toy?  It’s an absolute mess to clean up.  And when you live with Brad and all of his kitchen rules (can’t soak these babies…), you have to clean while you drink.  I even had to sweep I made such a mess.

Totally worth it, though.  I mean, think of the fun cocktails I’m going to be able to make now?  The possibilities are endless!!

And all that pulp leftover from all the fruits and veggies?  It is currently being used as fertilizer for our tomato and sweet pea plants.  Score.

So I’m not doing another juice detox this time around, but I am trying to eat super healthy to clean out my system from all the fun I just had with both sides of our family.  My new juicer is a fun toy that is gonna help me get my butt back in gear and get in great shape for our adventures back over to Florida for the Toasts’ wedding in May.

Girl’s gotta look good in a bikini!

Cheers!!

xoxo
