It sure is a rainy day here in Los Angeles.
But being that I am an east coast girl at heart, I am enjoying every second. From when I woke up this morning to rain splashing out of the storm drain to now, when I have the shades wide open so I can see all the drops fall through our dining room window as I write.
Sure, it made for a soggy walk for Gibson this morning, but something about rainy days get to me. I want to wear Brads sweatshirts. I want to listen to mellow music. I want to write and be creative. I want to drink hot chocolate and eat lots of warm comfort foods.
Back in school, I based projects on rain. I wrote poetry in French about rain in high school. I created a collection of rain stories in a writing class in college.
Could be because I’m a Pisces. I love the rain.
And now I live in bright and sunny SoCal, where it feels like 99.9999% of the time the sky is bright blue and beautiful. But you can’t complain because it is so wonderful to feel the sun and to live in this place.
Until the 23435th day of sun in a row, where you just want to wear your rain boots and slosh through puddles. It’s funny the things you miss.
So from now until the minute I have to leave for work, I’ll be cuddled up on the couch with my Moleskin and a pen, this mellow Spotify playlist going, and a little pup curled up next to me.
Enjoying the pitter patter…
xoxo
