Poor Brad.
He has to put up with my adoration of Christmas music.
But, to be fair, it was one of the reasons he fell in love with me. At least that’s my side of the story. More on that in a second.
I am definitely a big fan of the standards. You know the ones. Silent Night. Oh Holy Night. What Child Is This. Oh Little Town of Bethlehem.
I grew up as a choir chick. I know every word. I know harmonies. I know the verses you didn’t even know existed.
But those get boring after a while. Sometimes you need to switch it up. So here are three ridiculous Christmas songs to really get you in the spirit.
Dominick The Italian Christmas Donkey
When Brad and I were first dating, I introduced him to this song one night at work. And by that I mean I sang it. I think I even “hee-haw”ed a couple of times. And you get to dance around and sing “lalala…lalalaladedada”. This song is awesome.
I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas
I think this kid is being very logical about their Christmas wish list choice. A hippo doesn’t have to come down the chimney. Just bring him through the front door. It’d probably be the easiest. Plus, there’s even learning in this song! Teacher says a hippo is a vegetarian!
Crabs For Christmas
So much wrong/right with this song. The Baltimore accents. The “Christmas Wish’ll”. The Scrod. They don’t play this one out here in California. So I play it for them.
I bet Brad’s excited I’ll be back to Beyonce 24/7 after tomorrow.
xoxo
