Literally. I froze my credit cards.
Now that Brad and I aren’t going on any more lavish wedding-vacations anytime soon and most of our extravagant 2012 spending has passed (seriously, this has been an expensive year), we are back to the piggy bank.
Well, the savings account, really. I think it’s a little more safe. But we have a really cute piggy-bank, too.
To jump start the saving/get out of debt process, I put my credit cards on ice this week. For real. They are just far enough away that I will really have to think about what I’m spending that extra dinero on while the block of ice melts.
Here they are, amongst the frozen berries, pork stock, and animal pieces in our tiny freezer.
Goodbye impulse buys.
So now I have two goals that I want to reach by the time I am 30 – which is scarily creeping up on me pretty quickly…
#1. Become a certified Sommelier.
#2. Become debt-free. No medical bills, furniture bills, jewelry or credit card bills. Nada.
Sigh. Life.
I think we’re finally on the right track, but if you have any advice on making saving a little less painful, let me know!
For now, back to piggy-banking!
xoxo
