I couldn’t pick just one.
Truth of the matter is, for this week’s What I’m Listening To I had discovered way too many awesome artists to decide on one. This is not a bad problem to have. In fact, my ears have been very happy with me.
So instead of just introducing you to one artist that you may want to add into your music rotation, I decided to create you a weekend playlist. This way I don’t have to wait weeks and weeks to introduce you to these artists that I can’t get enough of.
And this week I can’t get enough of chicks who rock.
Well, not all of them rock. Some of them jam. Some of them strum. Some of them soothe. Some of their music is more relaxing or calming or electrifying. But all of them rock – if you know what I mean.
This week I just kept finding woman after woman whose music I really connected with. Spotify recommended Selah Sue to me, and when I started listening to her album I felt myself start buzzing. I loved every song so much that I was eager to hear the next one to see if I would like it even more. I literally wanted to listen to the whole album at the same time. It was the anticipation and excitement of finding a new artist you really connect with that had me anxious. I had to force myself to sit and listen until the end of every song to hear the next one.
I seriously need to calm down.
So if you could use a new song or two to add to your own personal mix, this is What I’m Listening To – quite literally – right now.
Plain Gold Ring (Live) – Kimbra
Raggamuffin – Selah Sue
Loneliest Soul – Grace Potter & The Nocturnals
Generals – The Mynabirds
Cruel – St. Vincent
Yo Mama – Peggy Sue
Little Lovin’ – Lissie
Never Forget You – Noisettes
The Last – Little Dragon
La Grande – Laura Gibson
An Animal A Natural – Bella Ruse
Ten Days – Missy Higgins
Where I Can’t Follow – Amy Kuney
This World – Selah Sue
Moving On – Silver Swans
Tigerlilly – La Roux
Dollars In The Night – The Asteroid Galaxy
Heavy Chevy – Alabama Shakes
If you have Spotify (which you should immediately sign up for if you don’t) you can listen to this playlist here, where I’ve added a bunch of my other favorite songs from these ladies as well as a couple of additional artists that I think you’ll be into.
Do you know of any other chicks who rock? I’m always looking to find something new!
xoxo
