I am not one of those people who takes a lot of pictures of themselves and posts them online.

You know the ones.  Left over from the days of MySpace.  Pouty face, big eyes staring into the camera, super close up.  Trying to be cute/sexy/flirty/hot/whatever.

But this morning I posted this picture to Instagram because I just couldn’t help it.  I’m just having a really happy day and I think it shows.

I have on my new favorite bird-tee, my “lucky” friendship necklace, and super bright red lipstick.  I got my nails done yesterday and I’m just feeling on top of the world.

It could also be a series of really wonderful things happening in my life right now.

#1.   Have you noticed anything different about The Key of Kels?  No, I didn’t cut my hair…

I bought my own domain!  http://www.thekeyofkels.com.  I am finding this to be super exciting.

Big time.  Big things to come.  Woohoo!

#2.   I have stopped picking up shifts on my three days off a week.  I know, I know.  Three day weekends every week?  What am I, lazy?

Heck no!! I am taking a bit of a pay cut in order to have three days a week to organize my life and goals and get on track doing the things I want to be doing.  Namely this blog and singing.  So watch out for some changes around this hot new domain and perhaps a snippet or two of some music I’ve been writing and recording.

Because THAT is the true Key of Kels.

#3.   I am going home to Maryland next week thanks to my lovely parents who bought me a ticket to come out and celebrate some very important days in my family.  Not only will Max be just about 6 months old, but it will be the first time in years that I am home for my Dad’s birthday and I also get to celebrate Karey’s birthday and life with the people who loved her the most.

Oh, and we’re going to eat crabs.  If that doesn’t get a Maryland girl excited, nothing will.

#4.   I am so insanely proud of my husband!!!

Just yesterday, the newest issue of Los Angeles Magazine came out and named Bar Pintxo the Best Spanish Restaurant in LA!!  Although the blurb is small, a photo of beautiful pintxos takes up at least a quarter of the page, grabbing anyone’s attention who is skimming through.  I cannot wait to see where this amazing publicity takes the guys in the months to come!

#5.   Oh, and because the Pintxo guys are winners, we are all invited to the Los Angeles Magazine Winner’s Party tomorrow night at the Ritz in downtown LA.

Red carpet, some of the most interesting people in the city, cocktails by the pool…  Is this not the coolest ever?!?

I’ve been stressing for a few weeks now about what the heck I’m going to wear.  I am not the most stylish person in the world.  In fact, I wear jeans and Tshirts most days.  But I found a couple really cute dresses today on Main Street in some teeny shops I’ve never been into.  I’m hoping one of them work!

I told Brad the other night, we’ve only been in Los Angeles 2 years and we’re already invited as honored guests to VIP parties.

Just think where we’ll be 2 years from now…
